Purpose

The DevOps Engineer role is essential for developing VSHN products and solutions according to customer needs, as determined by the Product Owners and Solution Architects. By building implementations of solutions and new product features, this role ensures that the product fulfils its requirements and works reliably. By providing techincal expertise directly to customers, this role helps customers unlock the value of VSHN’s products and solutions.

  • Understand the product, its architecture and technical implementation, its applications and limitations.

  • Contribute to implementing product features or solutions according to requirements in a maintainable, sustainable fashion.

  • Provide technical background and expert opinions to Product Owners and Solution Architects.

  • Provide technical support to customers in support tickets.

  • Contribute to ensuring that the product works reliably at all times, and to providing solutions swiftly if disruptions do occur.

  • Participate in the team’s work planning, operational decision-making and governance, providing technical background where useful.

  • Support the Product Owner with technical knowledge for the purpose of backlog item creation.

  • Contribute to increasing team efficiency, tooling, and automation.

  • Response to incidents (as defined in customer contract).

  • Continuous development of product features and solutions.

  • Active contribution to the team’s work backlog.

  • Active contribution to product reliability and incident handling within the team.

  • Active contribution to the team’s work planning, operational decision-making and governance.

  • Sharing of technical knowledge

Product Owner of the Engineer’s team
  • This role depends on the Product Owner for actionable backlog items and prioritization of work.

  • The Product Owner provides requirements for new features that are to be developed, and for new solutions that are to be built for customers.

  • The Scrum Master provides a functioning framework, within which a team’s DevOps Engineers can perform their work and collaborate effectively.

Team
